The senior girls' basketball team got their ship moving in the right direction winning the consolation championship of the University of Windsor tournament this weekend.  On Friday night the girls opened the tournament losing to a very strong Pickering squad 47 - 37. The game was back and forth til the final 5 minutes when Pickering hit two 3 pointers to gain their margin of victory.  Hannah McClounie had 15 points and Brielle Loebach 11 .  Hannah Drkulec made her season debut and brought great energy and intensity for the Saints.  Saturday morning the girls avenged a previous 15 point loss with a 20 point blowout of John Paul out of London.  In the consolation final against St. Thomas Aquainas the girls trailed 28 - 22 at half despite 13 straight points by Hannah McClounie which held us in the game . The second half was a different story , despite mising two starters the Saints came back behind 10 straight Brielle Loebach points in the late 3rd and early 4th quarter to win 52 - 44 . Sara Pizzicaroli hit two clutch 3's in the comeback .  Ryann Dowling was solid all weekend averaging 8 boards per game whle McClounie and Loebach led the offence scoring 14.5 and 11 pts per game respectively.  Great work ladies .  Practice tonight right after school.
