Last week, the Sr. Boy's Volleyball Team concluded their most successful season in 10 years with a strong performance in Brampton Ontario at the OFSSA Volleyball Championships. On Thursday, they finished with a 2-1 record, beating out Saunders High School, a 3rd seeded team from London and another team from Mayfield. After pool play, St. Anne made a name for themselves by finishing in a 3 way tie for first place.
However, due to point differentials they had to accept the 3rd place finish and play on Friday in the consolation 1/4 finals. In Friday's game they lost to the consolation champs Uxbridge team in 5 sets.

The Boy's success at OFSSA was a result of a variety of sets to all attacking positions, by setters Ethan Gravelle and Blake Ondryko. On the attack, Brad Gyemi led the way offensively from the power position, hitting over the block for most of his kills, complimented by the outside hitting of Matt Broderick. Quick sets, metre balls and blocking from our two middles, Anthony Zrvnar and Samar Nanuan were an important part of the offense. Defensively, Carter Fuerth positioned himself to defend against the oppostions powerful attacks. Clutch serves by Ryan McManus and Chris Rinaldi-Ross helped to secure the wins in the last two matches in pool play.
Best of luck to our gradualting seniors, Sergio Rodrigues-Barajas, Zakk Costantin, Carter Fuerth, Ethan Gravelle, Brad Gyemi, Ryan McManus, Samar Nanuan.

Special congratulations to Brad Gyemi, unanimous first team All City selection, Matt Broderick, first team All City and to Anthony Zrvnar, 3rd team All City selection.

Also we would like to announce the recently Breaden Braccio was named to 1st Team All City after accumulating more than 1400 all purpose yards and 12 TDs on the season.  In addition,  Sam Ried, Michael Thamm, Colin Sanders, and Josh Scaife were named 2nd Team All-Stars.

The Senior girls basketball team capped off an incredible season by advancing to the consolation finals at the AAAA Ofsaa Basketball championships in Guelph. The lady Saints started strong with a 15 point win over Aurora but fell short in their second game 33-30 to a huge Innisdale team. Lack of shooting and a large foul discrepancy hurt the ladies who still fought their way to within two with 20 seconds left but could not get the bounce to tie the game.  The second day of Ofsaa the ladies showed their character bouncing back and winnig over London and Ottawa teams.  On Saturday in their final game fatigue and injuries left the Saints short in their bid for an Ofsaa consolation championship plaque.  All team members should be congratulated on being Wecsaa and Swossa champions and on their play at Ofsaa .  Grade 11's Kyla Sovran , Elena Caldarelli , Olivia Kireta and Brielle Loebach were key contributors throughout the Ofsaa event .  Special mention goes to our graduating seniors Sara Pizzicaroli , Maddy Mooney , Ryann Dowling , Hannah McClounie and Nancy Ulicny on four outstanding seasons with our St.Anne basketball program. You will be missed on and off the court.   Great work ladies.
