Attention grade 10 and 11 students next spring we are hoping to offer an outdoor education course.  If you are interested about being active outside the traditional classroom please come to a very important meeting in the weight room today during both lunches.

Attention grade 10 and 11 students hoping to take leadership next year please pick up an application form outside the phy'ed office or see Mr. Ficon.

The following announcement is an opportunity to receive an exciting project called the Living Stations of the Cross.

Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays after school – during Lent (which is a good Lent thing to do anyway)

This takes place at St. William Church – right behind our school and requires no experience and there are not lines to memorize.  As Lent is upon us, the time to sign up is now!.  Contact Mrs. Hewer, in the Youth office at Good Shepherd Parish right away.  You can make a real difference as you get your service hours in a fun and very meaningful way!

United Empire Loyalists

In 1779, in an effort to win the War of American Independence (1775-1783), the British invited all Black men, women and children to join the British cause and win their freedom for doing so. Many accepted the invitation, and as a result 10 percent of the United Empire Loyalists coming into the Maritimes were Black.

During the War of 1812, the Coloured Corps fought in the Battle of Queenston Heights, a decisive engagement with the Americans. The Corps had been established thanks to Richard Pierpoint, a Black Loyalist and true Canadian hero.
