On the weekend the senior girls basketball team opened their preseason schedule competing in the JP II tournament in London. A rough first half against a solid St. Pats team had the Saints down by as many as 22. The ladies regrouped in the second half to pull within 8 and finish with a respectable 10 point loss. In their second game the Saints caught fire early and hammered Burlington Assumption 72-14. Game three saw the ladies run into Ontario power Sarnia Northern. After some early costly turnovers the girls fell behind and were not able to push to get back into contention finishing with a 60-32 loss. Maddy Bardoel and Anna Ulicny logged big minutes at the guard spot throughout the weekend and had several very good moments. Claire Lamarre and the Lesage twins did the same at the forward position. Practice tonight right after school.
