October 5 is a day to celebrate our teachers. World Teachers' Day is acknowledged in more than 100 countries around the world, and the Canadian Teachers' Federation marks World Teachers' Day by highlighting the many contributions made by its members.
This year we are teaming up with OECTA to showcase the many gifts that WECDSB teachers bring to our classrooms on a daily basis.
Our communications team is asking for your help by having people in your schools record short video clips of students answering the question 'What does my teacher mean to me?'
Post your videos to Facebook and/or Twitter with the hashtag #WorldTeacherDay, and/or email it to Paul DiMarco by no later than this Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Also, to help draw attention to the mental health issues that so many among us face, OECTA members are wearing green t-shirts on Oct. 5, and we are encouraging the rest of our school communities to show their support by wearing green that day too.
All members of the St. Anne's Tennis team please submit your WECSSAA forms and activity fee to Mrs. Ditchfield by the end of the day TODAY.
All members of the St. Anne's swim team, please submit your WECSSAA forms and activity fee to Mrs. Ditchfield no later then Thursday as practices officially begin this Friday, October 6th at 630am at the Atlas Tube Community Pool. You cannot swim if you have not submitted your forms. Any questions please see Mrs. Ditchfield.
Junior boys volleyball players please be ready to warm up today at 330pm outside the weight room.
Attention all choir members: we have a rehearsal tonight from 2:30 to 4 PM. New choir members are always welcome.
Attention all singers, instrumental musicians, dancers etc....sign up sheets are posted outside of the music room for this semester's Cafe Musique. It will be held on Tuesday, Oct 24 at 6:00pm. All St Anne students are welcome to perform but space is limited so sign up right away. The top acts will be asked to perform in the school-wide talent show in November.
The members of the golf team must return thier team shirts to Mr. Gignac this week.
