Yesterday the junior girls basketball team represented the St. Anne community well with a hard fought game against Villanova for the WECSSA triple A final. Finding themselves down at half but not out of it, the girls came out hard in the second half to bring the Widcats back to within a few. They were ultimately defeated but fought hard to the end. Congrats goes out to all the players for a great season. Players are reminded to return their clean uniforms to Mr. Cullion ASAP.
The Ontario Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday, on a golf course in Petewawa, overlooking the Ottawa River, across from the Province of Quebec and the Laurentian Mountains. The difficult course along with the cold temperatures were challenging for our Saint's athlete, Chloe Crep. Despite the challenges Chloe had an impressive race placing 81st out of nearly 300 of Ontario's best female high school runners in the junior division. Congratulations Chloe!
Yesterday afternoon at Lajeunesse the Senior girls basketball team fell 48-39 to Holy Name in the city final. The game was back and forth throughout with each team holding tight leads. In the end the small roster size of only 7 players and some heavy foul trouble cost the Saints a chance to finish the season with 8 consecutive wins. Claire Lamarre , Meg Mooney and Kristen Gore - all graduating seniors were outstanding in their last games as St. Anne Saints. Congrats to those girls who have represented St.Anne so well the past four years. Incredible run girls , you should be proud !!!!
