An important reminder to all ARTS DEPT students - This includes any student who has taken any music, dance, drama, or visual arts class this year as well as those in Band, Choir, Dance team, drama club, art club. Tickets for this years Arts Awards banquet are on sale every day in the music room until Thursday, May 31. Tickets are $35 - The banquet is June 8.
Attn Dance team: all costumes must now be returned. You may bring them to the staff room on both lunches. Check Twitter for details about the team banquet.
St Annes was well-represented at the Swossa championships with 20 athletes qualifying to Ofsaa regionals next weekend.
In senior boys discus, Mitchell Demchuk threw a personal best, placing 5th. In midget girls pole vault, Finley Booth was 5th, in junior girls josie Scott was 3rd and Ella Chiarcos 4th. In midget boys pole vault, Brendan Levack placed 4th and winning the event by vaulting 3 metres was Brad Murphy. In junior boys pole vault, Matt Demchuk placed 5th. In senior boys, Max St pierre was 2nd, Zeyad Saadi 4th and Ben Byczynski 6th.
On the track, the 3000metre races were run under the scorching sun and Terissa Baselj place 4th in the midget girls race and Chloe Crep placed 3rd. Chloe also placed 3rd in the 1500m. We had 2, 4 x 100 metre relays qualify for regionals: the senior girls team of Taylor Meloche, Sierra Moscone, Kaitlyn Breault and Julia Santin and the midget boys team of Adam Jankulovski, Brad Murphy, Steven Peters and Jacob Grainger.
We have some speed in gr 9 with Noelle Tousignant placing 4th in both the 100m and 200m races and Jacob Grainger continues to be undefeated winning both the 100 and 200m races and tying the swossa record of 23.24 seconds in the 200m.

There will be a brief track and field practice after school today. Meet in the physed area. See your coach if you can't make it.
