MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, JUNE 11, 2018

Cafeteria Fuel: Today we have Quesadillas with Spanish rice and a beverage for only $6.50

Every year near the end of June the Knights of Columbus in conjunction~with the school boards in Windsor/Essex hold a Safety Patrol~Appreciation Day at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh.~ This year's event will~take place on~Wednesday, June 20th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.~~Recently, we have seen a decline in the number of volunteers that we can~gather to help us out on this day and we have been fortunate enough to~receive students from St. Anne's to help us out.~ If there is a~possibility that again this year we could receive help from St. Anne's~students on this day to help us operate our Candy Floss Machines and to~hand out hot dogs and Mr. Freezes it would be much appreciated. We know~that it is near exam time for many of the senior students but if there~are any grade 9 or 10 students who could assist us we would be more than~grateful.~ We would need them to be there anytime etween~10:00 a.m.~and~1:00 p.m.~at Lacasse Park since all activities end at~2:00 p.m.

The Mackenzie Tour (CDN) PGA event that will be held at Ambassador Golf Club in LaSalle on July 2nd – 8th. The event requires roughly 300 volunteers of which 100 are caddies. I am the co-chair Caddie Master, and I am looking for young folks who are 16 years of age and older to help with the event.Volunteering to be a caddy is FREE where other duties have a financial commitment. Proceeds help Hospice.

Emma McConnell please come see Mrs. Sylvestre to get your art from Art In The Courtyard

The Ofsaa track and field championships were held this past weekend at York University.  Brandon Levack, Brad Murphy and Jacob Grainger made their presence known as St. Annes was leading the men's team scores after the first day.  In pole vault, Brandon Levack placed 6th and Brad Murphy took the gold with a 35cm personal best of 3.45m.  Jacob Grainger competed in 2 events!  In the 100m, he placed 5th with the winner being within three tenths of a second and in the 200m he placed 6th with all runners being within seven tenths of a second.  Jacob confirmed that he is one of the fastest gr 9 boys in Ontario!
Impressively, the team of 3 boys garnered enough points to place 4th in the midget boys division.
We'd like to encourage any athlete who believes that they can compete or perform better than these boys, to come out and try:)

Track and Field athletes are encouraged to pick up athletic banquet tickets and see Mrs. Gelinas for team dinner info and reservations.

While the results were not what the senior girls soccer team wanted, it does not take away how great the overall season was.  The team finished their undefeated regular season with a host position at Ofsaa and competed against the top teams from across the province.  Coach Ditty and Coach Ditchfield would like to extend a sincere thank you to the seniors who led this team all season with an incredibly dedicated  work ethic, their passion for soccer and their friendship.  The memories created will last a lifetime.  To Mariah Marentette, Isabelle Howie, Katrina Iakovidis, Emma Collins, Anaya Macri, Sarah Schincariol. Meg Mooney, Serena Smith and Abigail Daniel, we wish you nothing but continued success in your post secondary endeavors and we know you will successful in anything you pursue.  And to the team, the future of Saints soccer looks awesome as the retuning players are strong, dedicated athletes that know the level they need to play at to compete.  Outstanding season ladies, so very proud of you!  Please return your washed uniforms to Mrs. Ditchfield in the phys.ed. office this week.

Dance team - you must return your costumes this week to Mrs. Amyot - please bring them to the staff room on both lunches. Costumes must be returned this week!

"All it takes is faith, and trust" (Peter Pan) and a whole lot of awesome volunteers
A huge thanks to everyone who assisted in making the 15th Annual Secondary Day of Champions a success, this past Friday.
There were an extraordinary number of people involved, and we will make an attempt to remember them all:

Firstly, thank you to Ms. Lofaso and the Administrative staff for allowing St. Anne to once again host this event.
Thank you to our incredible office staff for all their help, to the cafeteria staff and custodial staff who were very patient and understanding of the importance of this event.

Thanks to the staff and students of the St. Anne lifeskills' department for a lot of behind the scenes work over the last few weeks.

Thanks to:
Mrs. Banks and students for facepainting, Mr. Reynolds and the tech crew for all their help, Mrs. Goggins and her period 1 students, Mrs. Herdman, and her students, Mr. Bergeron and his music students, Mrs. Amyot, and her senior dance students, Mrs. Collins, Mme. Koetstat, Mr. Richardson, and all the teachers and classes who came out to cheer on the participants. Also thank you to the tech and phys. ed departments for loaning very items, etc.

Thank you to Mr. Rosassen (for too many things to mention) and to Mr. Parent for his hard work, dedication and creativity.

Thank you to Mr. Ballay and Daniel Golovanko, who, as Captain Hook and Mr. Smee were incredible MCs and ambassadors for the day.

Thank you to the numerous student volunteers who assisted with setting up, cleaning up, dressing up,  and facilitating games.  Your enthusiasm and energy truly brought the day alive for the participants.
Over 170 students from lifeskills' programs throughout our board attended the event on Friday.  The awesome effort of all volunteers truly highlighted the giving spirit of our school community.

It is clear that it took an extraordinary team to facilitate this event -- thank you to everyone involved.
Thank you so much.
