MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
TUESDAY, MAY 27
The junior girls soccer teams continued their winning ways yesterday as they won all their games. They defeated Holy Names with a score of 2-0 with goals from Anna Ulicny and Sarah Boyd. Next they beat L'Essor with a score of 4-1 iwth goals from Anna Ulicny, Aleah Berenz, Carly Shultz and Kyla Sovran. In the last game of the day they defeated Villanova with a score of 2-0 with both goals coming from Anna Ulicny. Awesome net play was shown by Maddy West and Rachel Boyd. Great work girls on finishing number 1 in the league. See you Wednesday at practice!
Boys Baseball
Congratulations to Jack Zimmerman who was chosen League MVP and the winner of the John Upham award at yesterdays all star meeting. Kody Gagnon was also named to the first team. Realistically more boys should have been named to the team but only 10 were selected. They and will be dismissed at 11:20 and will depart at noon
Last day to sign up for Mini sticks. The tournaments will begin tomorrow Wed. may 28th. Only $2.00 will buy you a place on the mats! See you on both lunches today!!!!
On Friday and Monday our Junior Boys' Soccer team played in their WECSSAA season play. The first game on Friday was against Belle River with Nick Laforet scoring the only goal of the game giving us a 1-0 win. With less than an hour, the boys regrouped and played Brennan beating them 3-0 with 2 goals by Dylan Satto and one by Kris Vickard. The final game of the day with again less than an hour to rest was against Villanova. Although tired, the boys held off a very fast team to a 0-0 tie.
Monday was a brand new day with 3 more games for the Junior Boys' Soccer team. The first game against Kennedy was 1-0 win thanks to a goal by Nick Laforet and a lucky crossbar in the final seconds of the game. Our second game of the day was against St. Joseph. The boys gave St. Joseph a 1-0 win because of their lack of intensity and inability to focus on the game. After some soul searching, the boys regrouped for a 3-0 win against l'Essor with goals by Andrew Brait, Dylan Satto and Brandon Lachine after John "Jimmy" Aquino made an incredible run from our end all the way to l'Essor's net. The last game was the by far the best game showcasing what Ste.Anne Junior Boys' Soccer team is actually capable of doing. Special note to our entire defensive line for their great play. They were key in keeping us alive in many of the games. Also to Dante Conflitti who controlled the midfield with his superb play.
Those Junior Boys on first lunch are asked to see Mr. Idone in room 256 and those on second lunch please see Mr. Richardson at his room for information about our quarter final game.
