Students in all grades can enter one submission in any, or all, of the FOUR categories.
Awards are given for first and second place finishes in each category.
The categories are:
POETRY
NON-FICTION
FICTION, and
SPOKEN WORD POETRY (Judged by performance only)
HOW TO ENTER:
All written pieces are to be typed and submitted to Ms. Rozic (Room 267) or Ms. Cavallin (Room 265).
CONTEST DEADLINE: March 2, 2015
Please include a cover page stapled to your entry with the following information:
1) Name
2) Grade
3) Category of entry: (Poetry, Fiction or Non-Fiction)
4) Homeroom Teacher and Classroom Number
5) Accurate Word Count of Submission (Entries must not exceed 3000 words)
SPOKEN WORD ENTRIES: You will be judged by your performance approximately two weeks after poem submission in front of a live audience during Period 4.

Attention Potential Sr. Boy Soccer Players
Tryouts begin next Tuesday Feb. 24th, in Carmelita Hall at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Please bring proper gear which includes shin guards for tryouts.
Your Lady Saints hockey team defeated a pesky Sandwich team 2 to 1 yesterday at the Vollmer complex. The win puts the girls into the Finals vs Villanova. The final series is a best of 3, with the first game going Monday 2:30 at the Atlas Tube Arena. The girls would appreciate your support and hope to see you there.
Last weeks athelte of the week is Ryan Kiss of the senior boys basketball team.
He had a Season high 24 points versus Sandwich followed by 20 against Herman. He also earned Second Team All Star in WECSSAA Tier 1.
Ryan is to see Ms Vanbeek in room 162 for a picture sometime today.

Senior Boys Basketball:
Yesterday, your Senior Saints ballers earned a 63 to 47 quarter-final victory over Massey at Carmelita Hall. The Saints overcame a less than stellar start and found their "A" game in the second half to tame the Mustangs. Anthony Zrvnar led the way with 20 points, followed by Blake Ondricko with 13, and Matt Broderick with a Tim Horton's double double - 12 points and 10 rebounds. Great work, young men ---> on to the semi-finals at Kennedy - tomorrow night at 5 pm. Plan ahead Saints nation - this is a shout out to fans to get out to Kennedy tomorrow for a 5 pm tip off with the Clippers. The winner gains a berth in the WECSSAA final Sunday at the St. Denis Centre - U of Windsor.
The Junior Boys were eliminated last night in a tough 71-55 loss at Herman, the boys were within single digits in the fourth quarter before the wheels fell off.
Leading the team was Jack Howe with 17, Matt Bardoel with 15 and Curtis Zimmerman with 11.
The coaches want to congratulate the boys on a successful season and are excited for next year with 12 grade 9s returning
