WECSSAA Track and Field was a lot like Goldilocks and the Three Bears... the weather on day one was too hot, the next day was too cold, but yesterday it was just right!
Top honours go to our senior boys relay team (Ben Clarke, Beraden Braccio, Stephen Sarweh and Hayden Bourque) finishing in first place and Frankie Calvaruso also finished first in the 400 m. Other first place finishers included Jesse Devogeleare in high jump and the pole vault, and Brad Gyemi in the pole vault, setting a personal best of 4.05.
Other top three finishers included the senior girls relay team (Jacquie Hutchings, Kyla Sovran, Taylor Reaume and Alessia Mussio) and the midget boys relay team (Aiden Mitrevski, Frankie Calvaruso, Aaron Dugan, and Noah Rocheleau), Jacquie Hutchings 2nd and Alessia Mussio 3rd in the polevault. A third place was awarded to Zeyad Saadi, and a 2nd place to Jordan Lupas and a 2nd to Madison Bardoel in non other than... the pole vault. Three records were also attempted in the pole vault... which was extremely impressive.
Lots of other athletes made the top eight to qualify to SWOSSAA next week - pop by the track and field bulletin board today sometime to see some of the excellent results, and who will be moving on.
Coaches are truly proud of your efforts... congratulations!!
