Hey Saints... Everybody knows today is Black Friday, but did you know that today is also called: BUY NOTHING DAY?
Now in its 22nd year, Buy Nothing Day is celebrated every November by environmentalists, social activists and concerned citizens around the world. It has evolved into a global movement that encourages citizens to think creatively of ways to buy less, while poking fun at our consumerist culture.
Instead of buying something new... why not get crafty with UPCYCLING? Turn old credit cards into guitar pics, or old picture frames into serving trays! Especially with Christmas around the corner... try to re-purpose something old that is laying around the house - and make it into a unique gift.
Yesterday your Lady Saints girls hockey defeated the Holy Names Knights by a score of 5 to 0. Your goal scores were, Riley "the rocket" Pirouet with 2, Amy "the machine" Maiter, Taylor "Made" Reaume, and Oooh Kireta with singles. The shutout performance was turned in by backup goalie Vanessa Despenic. Great game girls, and thanks to the teacher who attended.
