Yesterday at St.Clair College the Junior girls basketball team completed a great end of season run with a hard fought 42-39 win over Holy Name. A mix of solid team defence and timely scoring helped the team pull away in the second half and claim the title of WECSSA Champs. The girls now advance to the SWOSSA championship game on Wednesday in Sarnia. Details to follow.
The senior girls basketball team made it a four time volleyball / basketball sweep over Holy Name in WECSSA final games with a 62-33 domination of the Knights. The girls came out of the gate flying getting off to a 27-5 lead.
A stifling Defence and overwhelming speed were too much for rival Knights. Claire Lamarre led the offence with 24 points, Anna Ulicny had 16 and Liv Norris added 10. Every player on the squad played and contributed to the victory. Well done ladies. The team now advances to the SWOSSA final on Thursday at 7:00 pm in our gym. Make plans to come out and be a part of what should be a great game.
